Blackjack at Your Event

Blackjack is the workhorse of a Fun Casino evening. The rules take about thirty seconds to explain, rounds are quick, and guests cycle through the seats rather than one person settling in for the night.

That turnover matters more than people expect. Over a three-hour event, far more of your guests will get a turn at the blackjack table than at any other.

Blackjack table hire across Kent: Canterbury, Whitstable, Faversham, Margate, Dover, Folkestone, Ashford, Maidstone, Sittingbourne, Rochester and Medway, Tunbridge Wells, Sevenoaks, Gravesend and the rest of Kent.

How to Play Blackjack

Written for someone who has never played. Our croupiers cover all of this on the night anyway.

1

Get closer to 21 than the dealer

Every hand is you against the dealer. Beat their total without going over 21 and you win.

2

Know what the cards are worth

Number cards score their face value. Picture cards score 10. An ace counts as either 1 or 11 — whichever helps you more.

3

You are dealt two cards

Both face up. The dealer takes two as well, with one of theirs visible.

4

Hit or stand

Ask for another card ("hit") or keep what you have ("stand"). Go over 21 and you are bust, which means you lose that round.

5

The dealer plays last

The dealer follows fixed rules rather than making free choices, which keeps every round consistent.

6

Blackjack beats everything

An ace with a picture card or a ten in your first two cards is a blackjack — the best hand in the game.

Why Blackjack Works at Events

Blackjack is where nervous guests start. Nobody has to admit they do not know the rules, because the croupier explains as they deal, and the decision in front of you is only ever hit or stand.

For corporate events that matters. The colleague who would hover at the edge of a poker table will happily sit down at blackjack, and once they have played a hand or two they tend to stay in the room rather than drifting to the bar.

Blackjack Questions

How many people can play blackjack at once?

A blackjack table seats around 7 players, with additional guests able to watch and join as seats become free. Over an evening, far more than seven guests will play at a single table.

What are the basic rules of blackjack?

The aim is to get a hand totalling closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Number cards score their face value, picture cards score 10, and an ace counts as 1 or 11. Players choose to hit for another card or stand with what they have.

What is a blackjack?

A blackjack is an ace paired with a picture card or a ten in your first two cards, totalling 21. It is the strongest hand in the game.

What does bust mean in blackjack?

Going bust means your hand total has exceeded 21, which means you lose that round regardless of what the dealer holds.

Is blackjack easy to learn?

Yes — it is the most beginner-friendly casino game. Most guests understand it within a single hand, and our croupier guides new players throughout.

Is blackjack good for corporate events?

Yes. The fast rounds mean guests cycle through the table rather than one person occupying a seat all evening, so more people get to play. It is the table to prioritise when many guests are new to casino games.

How long does a round of blackjack take?

Rounds are quick, typically a couple of minutes, which keeps the table moving and gives more guests a turn.

Does the dealer play by different rules?

Yes. The dealer follows a fixed set of rules rather than making free choices, which keeps the game consistent and fair for everyone at the table.

How much space does a blackjack table need?

Roughly 2m x 1.5m for the table itself, plus space for the croupier on one side and standing guests around it. We are happy to advise on layout before your event.

Do we need a croupier for the blackjack table?

Every blackjack table we hire out comes with a professional croupier included. They run the game and teach guests as they go.

Can guests join partway through the evening?

Yes. Guests can join at any point when a seat is free, so people can drift between tables throughout the night.

Can we hire a blackjack table on its own?

Yes, a single table can be hired. Adding a second table unlocks our free decor, red carpet, stanchion pole and oversized dice package.
